School-Based Services

School Social Work Services

School Social Work Services are accessed through local schools or by calling Intake at 802.488.6600 to find out the availability in your school. The mission of the program is to address barriers within the child, home, school and community that interfere with student achievement. Over 44 schools in Chittenden County have contracted with HowardCenter to provide social work services to children.

School-Based Consultation and Training

HowardCenter offers mental health consultation and training aimed at assisting schools in addressing these significant barriers to student learning and school performances. Please call Intake at 802.488.6600 for more information.

Students FIRST (Fully Integrated Resources for Schools/Mental Health Teaming) Project

HowardCenter, South Burlington School District (applicant), Vermont Department for Children and Families along with a consortium composed of all Chittenden County School Districts and key community stakeholders will participate in an 18-month program to integrate schools and mental health systems.
