Family Support Services
Family Support Services offers respite to families of children and adolescents with significant mental health issues. During this time, workers provide supervision, establish firm structure and limits around children’s behaviors, and build on the clients’ strengths by engaging them in positive experiences and interactions in the community. Intensive Family-Based Services
Intensive Family-Based Services (IFBS) provides time-limited, intensive intervention for families in which a child is at risk of removal from the home for reasons of abuse, neglect, or serious emotional disturbance. Services are provided mainly in the family home, generally for a 13-week period of time, with a minimum of five hours each week of service directly to, or on behalf of, the family. Services provided by IFBS family counselors include crisis intervention, individual and family counseling, parenting skills education, and case coordination. Therapeutic Foster Care
HowardCenter is a licensed Child Placing Agency and, as such, supports children’s stays in foster homes, whether they reside with foster parents full time or visit with foster parents on weekends. These are energetic children who struggle with emotional and behavioral challenges, and it is important to pair them with foster parents who may meet their individual needs. Family and Community-Based Services
The goal of Family and Community Based Services is to optimize the functioning and well-being of children experiencing emotional behavioral challenges and their families through identification and utilization of needed resources and support, with the goal of restoring family autonomy. Wrap-Around Services
