Ed Vizvarie of HowardCenter Wins International Award
Shelburne resident Ed Vizvarie, Director of Facilities at HowardCenter, was honored with the “Margaret Barnes Diamond Award,” the highest honor bestowed on a member by the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA) at their 2008 Convention on September 10 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The award is granted every other year to a person who has made “outstanding contributions continually over an extended period of time” on behalf of the Association. Vizvarie is being honored for his volunteer efforts with the IEHA Vert Mont Chapter, which credits Vizvarie for its fiscal stability and charitable work.
Vizvarie has been a member of IEHA since 1993 and is the immediate past President of the Vert Mont Chapter (2003-2007). He has been instrumental in the success of the IEHA HowardCenter Charity Classic, a charity golf tournament designed to support HowardCenter’s Child, Youth & Family Services Outdoor Challenge Program. Over the past 13 years, the Tournament has raised $86,251 to support children at HowardCenter, in addition to providing financial support for the Chapter. Vizvarie has been employed at HowardCenter for 16 years.
