The unexpected death of a young person is a tragedy, and is difficult for the youth’s family, friends, teachers, and a grieving community. Howard Center First Call program is available to provide in person or phone support to children and families in Chittenden County at
488-7777.

Howard Center clinicians, including First Call staff, will be at Essex High School on Friday, April 24, between 11am-2pm to provide support to students, faculty, and families impacted by the death of a student. The school will open that day during school vacation week specifically for this purpose.

Howard Center’s web site has links to a list of recent resources for youth, parents, and providers in response to tragedies: www.howardcenter.org, News and Events.

First Call is Howard Center’s free 24/7 crisis service for children and families.
